Whatever! It would have to be one of the most incorrectly used words in the north American English lexicon.

In it's current usage by marginal morons, "Whatever!" is a one word response they shriek whenever they hear something that disagrees with their narrow view of the world. This response is rude and dismissive, and whenever I hear it I have to fight the urge to slap the utterer until they bleed

If somebody tells you something that you don't like or agree with, try having a dialogue with them instead of just dismissing the conversation and showing your ignorance. Not only will you be a more pleasant person to be around, but you may also learn something.
